myLIBRO Library Contactless Service Users

(Indianapolis, IN – January 17, 2020) ConverSight.ai, an Indianapolis-based conversational and analytics platform, released today, new chat functions and capabilities to LIBRO, the first full-service library app that integrates with public and university libraries’ ILS systems, events calendar and other operating information systems allowing users to search for information through typed chat and voice. The solution plays a critical role in enabling students and patrons to access materials and resources from their library through simple voice commands on a mobile device, tablet or desktop computer.

“The release of these new features to our LIBRO application will equip users with the ability to search their library for materials no matter where they are. With a mobile device or smart speaker, patrons can quickly search for items in their local library and with a simple click or voice confirmation, perform a variety of actions like reserving books, accessing a catalog and renewing a library account” said ConverSight.ai CEO and Co-founder Ganesh Gandhieswaran.

LIBRO provides a simple, patron-facing user interface that does not require training for use. The user simply asks a question through voice or text and the app conducts a thorough database search. The expanded features bring the added capability of text chat and visuals that allow for a deeper search – improving searches and empowering the user to ask more complicated questions like catalog searches by title, author, or genre and view results with visuals including book cover art.

LIBRO is ADA Compliant, empowering sight-impaired users with voice interaction. The app lets users search and reserve books, place materials on hold, see what events are coming up at their local library, reserve space for programs, meeting rooms and events and get answers to frequently asked questions like library’s operating hours and policies, all available in multiple languages including English and Spanish. The original version of LIRBO, an Alexa skill, is already deployed in 35+ public and academic libraries.

“With the growth of voice assistant technologies in our everyday lives, library-goers are expecting a similar voice experience that achieves instant access to library information through smart systems,” said Gandhieswaran. “Consistent engagement with patrons is top of mind for libraries around the country and LIBRO allows a seamless experience to create that connection. Our mission is to make information more accessible to all users like never before, equipping libraries to meet readers wherever they are.”
